What is a compendium?
A sewing compendium is a portable, all-in-one set containing essential sewing tools such as thread, needle, thimble. It has roots in history: the term originally described multi-functional, compact sewing tools popular from the late 18th century through the Victorian era. As sewing circles became fashionable, women needed easily transportable tools.
