Rainbow Tweed
This unique thread combines three different fibers—cotton, wool and acrylic—to create a unique texture in needlepoint, embroidery and cross stitch. It gives a soft, heathery look. The “tweed” effect comes from the difference in dye absorption among the three different types.
The colors of Rainbow Tweed are muted beauties; think Scottish, Irish, Welsh, and English clothing of the 1800s, 1900s, 2000s. That makes it excellent for stitching traditional-type clothing on painted needlepoint canvases, plus cross stitch and embroidery designs. It’s also good in large textured areas like sky, dirt, mountains, and greenery.
