Overture
Overture is a heavy 4-ply, loosely twisted, overdyed cotton thread. One ply is equivalent to #5 DMC Perle. This thread is a thicker version of Rainbow Gallery’s Bravo! overdyed thread, so it’s perfect for larger count fabrics and canvases, or for large, long stitches. Separate the strands and recombine the number needed for your particular stitch on your particular fabric or canvas. Try 1 ply on 18-mesh needlepoint canvas, and 2 plies on 13- or 14-mesh.

What does “overdyed mean”?
Overdyed is a popular technique for creating colors in fabrics and threads. It basically means applying a secondary layer of dye to a fabric, yarn, or finished item that has already been dyed or colored. Since Overture is overdyed, each card of a specific color may look different.
