Rainbow Eyelash
Stitching beards, animals, witch’s hair, bird feathers? This is the fiber with long hair (you can even trim it if you’d like) to make those motifs look realistic. Rainbow Eyelash is best used in long stitches that show off the hairy, furry texture. It makes great hair and beards on human figures, fur and tails on animals, and feathers on birds.
In general, use one ply on 18-mesh canvas, two plies on 14-mesh canvas. In cross stitch, use one or two plies in long stitches (like satin stitch) on larger Aida counts.

Stitching Tips
The web site needlepoint.com shares helpful tips on stitching with Rainbow Eyelash: “There is too much fluff to pull through every hole, so it’s best to use Eyelash for satin stitches. Satin stitches are simply long stitches spanning over several canvas threads. While this is the simplest way to use Eyelash, we tried it with turkey work too. Because of the bold impact, we recommend doing a single row of turkey work or only using the stitch to cover a very small area.”
