Description
The American Style Takobari Best Laying tool is perfect for guiding threads to lay smooth, flat, even or side by side.
- Made in the USA from the finest steel.
- Fits easily in your non-stitching hand.
- Use it to guide plied, ribbon, silk and/or metallic threads as the stitch is laid, keeping them flat, smooth or parallel for neater stitches.
- Stroke the thread if needed with the laying tool to keep multiple strands side-by-side as you lay the stitch.
- Designed by famed needle artist and teacher Shay Pendray.
- Also known as “BLT” for Best Laying Tool.
How to use:
- Laying tools are most usable when your stitching is in a needlework stand, as you will need both hands to lay your stitches.
- Hold the tool in your non-dominant hand while your stitching hand holds your threaded needle.
- Bring your thread up through the canvas or fabric from the back, and use the tool to guide or stroke underneath the thread as you lay it in the stitch.
- If needed, use the point to guide threads as they enter the hole to avoid twists.
Using a laying tool for the first time may feel slow at first, but you will quickly get into the “flow” of laying your stitches and discover how helpful a BLT is for making the most beautiful, smoothest stitches.
