Description

This thread-laying tool fits easily onto your finger to stroke threads as you lay them and thus create neat, smooth, beautiful stitches. With a decorative, old-world look and made of English pewter, this Celtic Trolley Needle will become an instant heirloom among your needlework tools.

  • For controlling flat ribbons or multiple-stranded threads as you complete stitches.
  • Fitting onto your finger makes the laying tool always nearby.
  • Beautiful, intricate Celtic design.
  • Made in England.
  • Pewter.

How to use:

  1. Laying tools are most usable when your stitching is in a needlework stand, as you will use both hands to lay your stitches.
  2. Slide the trolley needle about an inch or where comfortable onto your dominant or preferred finger of your non-stitching hand.
  3. With your stitching hand, bring your thread up through the canvas or fabric from the back, and use the tool to stroke underneath the threads as you lay them in the stitch. Use the trolley needle to guide flat threads against the canvas/fabric, or lay multi-stranded thread parallel.
  4. If needed, use the point to guide threads as they enter the hole to avoid twists.

Can also be used to guide small embellishments like sequins and beads into place.
