Alabaster
In needlepoint, this unique thread can be used in a variety of stitches on any size mesh to add texture and sparkle.It is a loose chainette braid that allows the needlepoint painted canvas color to show through softly. It comes in one color, BG7 White Pearl, a sparkling white thread ideal for stitching frost, ice or snow. If using for cross stitch, this thread is slightly too thick for 14-count Aida, so it’s better used on 11-count Aida.

Stitching tips
The chain-like construction adds a visually exciting texture to a design. It also calls for a little extra care while stitching. Use a needle with a large eye, for instance, large enough to accommodate the thread easily but not distort your fabric or canvas. Stitch with shorter lengths (longer lengths are harder to control, plus they cause more abrasion on a thread from repeated passes through the fabric).
