Very Fine #4 Braid, Holographic Colors

Very Fine #4 Braid

Holographic colors offer a faceted look, almost segmented, offering more dimension than basic metallic colors. They have “L” in their color numbers.

Very Fine #4 Braid is a thin metallic thread for cross stitch (14-, 16- and 18-count Aida) and embroidery. In needlepoint, use it as a blending thread, or couch it for fine details like eyelashes, flower tendrils, etc. Use it straight from the reel as a single strand. Very Fine #4 Braid is half the thickness of Fine #8 Braid.

See description below for how-to-use information.

Description

Very Fine #4 Braid is a thin metallic thread designed for cross stitch and embroidery. In needlepoint, use it as a blending thread, or couch it for fine details like eyelashes, flower tendrils, etc. Very Fine #4 Braid is half the thickness of Fine #8 Braid; if you need a thicker look than #4 Braid, use #8 Braid rather than trying to stitch with two strands of #4 Braid.

  • 15 yards on a card
  • Use it straight from the reel as a single strand
  • Ideal coverage in cross stitch on 16- and 18-count Aida or over two threads on any linens

  • Muted, antiqued Vintage colors (has “V” in color number), 64% polyester, 36% nylon
  • Prismatic Holographic colors (has “L” in color number), 100% polyester

  • Corded, highly textured Cord colors (has “C” in color number), 28% polyester, 72% rayon

  • IN FLY FISHING: Use for bodies on small flies.
  • IN NEEDLEWORK: Ideal for cross stitch on 16-count or 18-count Aida. Some stitchers also like using it on 14-count Aida for a light metallic look. We recommend a #22 or #24 Tapestry needle. Use in any stitch in an embroidery or fiber art design. In needlepoint, use it to string beads (especially translucent beads so the metallic sheen shows through), to couch thicker threads, or to create light details on top of stitches.
  • IN WEAVING: Sett 48 epi.
  • IN CROCHET & KNITTING: lace weight, light fingering weight. Needle/hook sizes vary depending on project.
  • CARE: Very Fine #4 Braid is hand and machine washable; tumble dry on low. Do not iron directly onto the metallic; use a press cloth. Note: some colors like red may bleed, so we recommend testing a swatch before washing your entire project.
