How to use:

  1. Laying tools are most usable when your stitching is in a needlework stand, as you will need both hands to lay your stitches.
  2. Hold the tool in your non-dominant hand while your stitching hand holds your threaded needle.
  3. Bring your thread up through the canvas or fabric from the back, and use the tool to guide or stroke underneath the thread as you lay it in the stitch.
  4. If needed, use the point to guide threads as they enter the hole to avoid twists.

Using a laying tool for the first time may feel slow at first, but you will quickly get into the “flow” of laying your stitches and discover how helpful a BLT is for making the most beautiful, smoothest stitches.
